Estate Range

Pinot Noir

2019

Each year we challenge ourselves to create a wine that’s elegant yet unpretentious – superbly put together with soft, silky tannins and wicked cellaring potential. The result? Our Estate Pinot Noir. Rich and complex, with ripe dark cherry on the lips.

The Art –

Dark berry and spice aromas balanced with a succulent ripe palate. Fine tannins and good acidity leave a long, lingering finish.

The Science –

Select blocks on the vineyard and nine months in French oak. Partial whole bunch for aromatic complexity.

Reserve

Pinot Noir

2019

Made only in exceptional vintages, the 2019 Reserve Pinot Noir is a nod to the marriage between art and science. Celebrated for its mouth-filling flavours of rich berries and time-honoured craftsmanship. So good you can almost taste it – and we suggest you do. Gold Medal winner in the 2021 Decanter World Wine Awards, and awarded 96 points in the 2022 Halliday Wine Companion.

The Art –

Vibrantly lifted aromas of dark cherry and white spice. A long and elegant palate of rich fruit with a savoury character and fine, silky tannins.

The Science –

10% whole bunch carbonic fermentation for added complexity, vibrancy and lift. Select complementing Pinot Noir clones.

Research Series

Pinot Noir

2020

With this new vintage we celebrate our Kayena Vineyard grape-growing mastery by welcoming a new clone to the team: Abel Clone. Bright ruby in the glass, the Research Series shines with lifted aromas of Sarsaparilla, crunchy red fruits and subtle herbaceous elements, with a hint of spicy toast complexity.

The Art –

A uniquely vibrant aromatic of Sarsaparilla and red fruits. Medium-bodied, elegant, and deliciously drinkable.

The Science –

Two parcels of fruit, and two techniques at play: 85% carbonic maceration, 15% barrel fermentation.

Single Block

Pinot Noir

2020

Our fourth release of the Single Block Pinot Noir since the first in 2014. This vintage we celebrate Block 25 from Clone MV6 (Mother Vine Six) from some of our oldest vines at the Kayena Vineyard. These 20-year-old vines have produced a beautifully balanced Pinot Noir with great finesse, structure, and length.

The Art –

An elegant, vibrant, and beautifully balanced Pinot Noir. Rich red fruits with integrated spice and savoury tannins.

The Science –

Destemmed, cold-soaked and fermented with wild yeast. Basket pressed. Matured in (17% New) French Oak barriques for 12 months.
